Does this make you happy? Then a volunteer walking guide for Healthy Nature Walking is really something for you!
Our free and weekly walks of about an hour in the green are walked at a leisurely pace. The walkers always look forward to the weekly meetings in the different seasons. We think it is important that the walkers can count on us every week/month and that is why we are looking for extra walking guides. That way we can alternate.

As walking guides of a group, you ensure a beautiful route together. Do you have an eye for nature and would you like to tell us a little about it along the way? Do you also think socializing is important? Then we are looking for you!

The Healthy Nature Walking Foundation offers free guided nature walks every week. Anyone who likes to walk for an hour at a leisurely pace is welcome! Of course without obligations.

Departure points and times:
The walks are free and our guides are ready at the start location.
* Zaandam Zaans Nature and Environment Center at City Farm Darwin Park, De Weer 31, 1504 AH Zaandam. Every Thursday at 10:30 am.
* Zaandam Pennemes, Bloemgracht 95, Zaandam Every Wednesday at 10:00 am from here you can walk in the two beautiful adjacent parks.

What are you going to do?
As a supervisor/star you walk with your walking group from the meeting point for about an hour.
You do this one to four times a month in consultation with your local coordinator. A walking group consists of two guides: one walks in front and indicates the route and one walks in the back of the group with the people at a slower pace. As a guide you can briefly tell something about nature along the way, but this is not a requirement. Attention to nature already contributes to nature experience! Afterwards you drink a cup of coffee or tea with the participants.

What else do we ask?
Together with another volunteer, you lead a walking group. We will help you with this in the beginning. You don't need any special knowledge. As a walking guide you do have:
• interest in health and nature
• a reasonable condition, you can walk for an hour at a leisurely pace
• good social skills

What do you get in return?
The conviviality and gratitude of the walkers and a group of enthusiastic colleagues/volunteers. For questions and support you can always contact the coordinator of the walks.
We offer our supervisors several short and interesting courses in 2023.

Are you interested and do you like to provide guidance every now and then (for example once a month or more often)? Then we would like to get in touch with you!
Try it out first? Take a walk and see if it's for you.
Send a message to Corrie Kramer stating first and last name to get in touch with the right person. Please also mention the walking group(s) of your choice.
