what does the collective volunteer insurance entail?

The volunteer insurance is intended for every volunteer who works voluntarily and unpaid to help others and/or society. This insurance is therefore for every volunteer who is active in the municipality or who is active for an organization from the municipality. This also applies to social trainees.

For informal carers, only the accident and personal property insurance for volunteers applies. The liability insurance for volunteers and the Pluspolis are not there for them.

Not insured are: firefighters and volunteer police officers.

Registration for the insurance is not necessary. The insurance is automatically applicable to all Zaanse volunteers.

submit damage

If you have damage, you can submit a claim by fully completing a damage report form on the website of the municipality of Zaanstad .

The municipality sends the claim to insurer Centraal Beheer Achmea. The damage is settled directly by Centraal Beheer. If there is an excess, this will be arranged with the legal entity. Questions about the status of the settlement can be submitted directly to Centraal Beheer. The municipality will be notified of how the claim has been handled.

The organization for which the person performs voluntary work will have to declare that the damage occurred during voluntary work. The municipality can also check with the associations or organizations whether someone is justified in submitting a claim.
